You never heard that they were coming to town. Not even when they were coming right at your own home. You did not even had a clue that they had found your home and had declared it to be fit to be called their home. That is some kind of visitor that you would not want to have in your home. You did not invite them. And if they do more harm than good, that is even worse.

There are some things known as lawn stories. But they are just not yet heard by human ears. Now if these lawns could talk, they have a lot of stories to share about insects coming and making their stay there. Plus, sometimes, they have to deal with insects that bring about a lot of damage that make them go sick and that is where you, the owner, steps in because you notice that the grass has gone dry or it just does not go that green anymore.

Are those really sod webworms? How do you know that you are actually looking at them already? Those sod webworms may look to be harmless but they can do a good amount of damage to your garden or your lawn. There are insects that are an advantage to these pieces of land but there are some like the one mentioned previously that can do a lot of chaos. You do not want them there really.

Well, as its name says, they are worms. They are about three quarters of an inch in length. They can come in the shades of gray, brown, beige, or even green. And you would know that they are sod webworms because if you take a look at its stomach area, you would notice that there are four rows of brown spots lining there. Now when you see that on a worm, you then know that you are looking at sod webworms. Now you can start doing what you need to do to take them all away.

These insects usually are at their peak around the late portion of June right into September. So if you do notice some browning of your grass during such period and then you see such worms crawling about, then you know who the culprit is and you will know just what they could do to your lawn if you do not do anything about it. See, they actually work their way into the grass that the grass becomes unhealthy and then starts to go brown. When you pull it up, it would be easy for you to do so. Just treat the areas with insecticide and you are going to be all set.
