The Stages Of Drought
There are different stages that drought comes in. That is a fact. And that is something that you should be having inside your brain now that you have your very own garden or lawn. You have spent hours taking care of that piece of land that you definitely would like to know if it is too dry already and if drought has already come. Being armed with the right information will definitely help you protect your lawn and those hours you spent working on it.
There are mainly two things that are affected by drought when it comes visiting on your lawn or your garden. One of the things that you would find affected by such a phenomenon is the health of the lawn or the garden. With that, you may not see it right away especially in the early stages of drought. But deep inside and beneath, the plants on your lawn or garden will be already suffering. Think of the plants as people and drought as some sickness - that one person may look really healthy to the eye but if you do the right tests, you will find out that he is not all that well.
How your garden or your lawn looks is yet another thing that is affected by the onset of drought. So if you really take much pride in all the effort that you did just to make your lawn or your garden look to be envy of others who have lawns or gardens, then you sure want to make sure that drought does not come visiting. Your lawn will not look that wonderful. And if you have the right information regarding this, then you surely will be able to know just what it takes to make sure that drought will not call your lawn or your garden its home.
If your lawn has not been getting the right amount of moisture for a week at the very most, then you have to expect the first stage of drought there. In fact, it probably has set in. This first stage is known as temporary drought. The grass will turn a dark gray hue. And when you stick in a screwdriver into the soil, that would be quite a task.
Permanent drought. That is the second stage. This second stage happens when the lawn or the garden that you have is not able to receive the right amount of moisture for a week at the very least. The leaves of the grass would already be colored golden or brown. A very bad sign for lawn lovers.
Of course, there is a final stage and this one is known as the history of drought. This is the last stage and this is definitely not something that you would want to happen to that piece of land you have been working on that much. When this happens, what you will have is a piece of land that is already too dry. In fact, you may not even find much growing on it, if not nothing at all.
