Though these days it isn't hard to find a wonderful PA flower shop, but most people have no idea exactly how the practice ever started. The media of flower arrangement has survived in perpetuity for quite a while. You might be surprised to find out how those beautiful Philadelphia flowers came to be the artful treasure that they are today.

Floral art first appeared in the culture of the Egyptians, thousands of years ago. Egyptians utilized this style of art for some of the same ceremonies that we utilize it for today. Most notably elegant arrangements of flowers were a cornerstone in ceremonies such as funerals. Another interesting fact is that these ancient groups used vases for their arrangements as well, and probably were the first to do so.

From the Egyptians forward this concept seemed to permeate most of the ancient cultures we are familiar with. The Greeks and Romans often created floral arrangements for their various religious and spiritual ceremonies. These arrangements were less likely to be contained inside a vase. However, beautiful wreath like arrangements came to exist thanks to the talented Romans.

It wasn't long before the Asian dynasties were also putting their mark on the world of floristry. These flower were more than just window dressing, they were thought to retain special value based on what type of flower they were. As with the cultures that embarked on this practice prior to them, the Asians adorned their religious events with various floral beauties. We can thank this layer of history for the beautiful addition of simple but elegant lucky bamboo.

In Europe the idea of using formed bouquets in religious places began about a millennia ago. During the starting years arrangements were primarily used in monasteries and similar religious locations. Common people did not start to catch on to the trend for their own abodes and ceremonies until about five hundred years later. At this place in time, thanks to the renaissance, arrangements became a detail of life for commoners. Fruit mixed in with flowers was the contribution that this era of time brought to the table.

Of course, the Europeans brought this to the new world and now we have a PA flower shop in most Pennsylvania neighborhoods, as well as neighborhoods all over the country. The Philadelphia florist tradition is carried on by those who have been formally trained in post graduate coursework as well as those got their education through internship or self study. Americans used flowers in some of the same methods their ancestors did, including religious events. Some people even buy arrangements just to add some natural beauty to their home. Finding a PA flower shop is simpler than ever before.
