Rock gardens and liven up any landscape. You might have a spot in your yard where there isn't much sun exposure, or a place that's too dry.

Or you might have a yard that's swampy because there's too much rain in your area. Rock gardens are the answer to these problems in your yard, plus they need little care.

Good planning can help any novice to rock gardens, but sometimes a professional's opinion can be the difference between ordinary and magnificent. If your area is very rocky, you are free to remove the excess rocks and design the rest into an attractive pattern.

You can also add some plants that can survive on rocky ground. Or you could also put an artificial or plant border around the area if it just has too many rocks.

An erosion is likely to occur on sloped terrain. Placing a rock garden in a strategic area of your land will stop the erosion and while adding a good lawn decoration. Indigenous rocks in your garden make it seem more natural.

If you have an area is too dry, then that's just perfect for a rock garden, especially the Japanese rock garden. This kind of a garden uses sand and rocks to put patterns into the ground and if you have an extremely dry climate, this will look intentional despite having a bad spot in your yard. There are those who think that Zen gardens are the same as Japanese rock gardens, but it isn't so.

You can have plants that thrive in the shade for rock gardens that are in areas where there is little sunlight. You can have shade-loving plants in your rock garden instead of the usual plants found in rocky areas. It's a great way to expand on the rock garden concept and have a more personalized decoration.

It doesn't matter what type of land you have, a rock garden can always bring you some good. Do you have a big property? Let's consider mowing. By putting some rock gardens on your lawn, you minimize the area you have to lawn, and make your lawn more beautiful.
