After-Planting Care for the garden

Posted by Phil Caxton

Plants are essential for our well being. They also hold many decoration and beauty values. However if you decide to keep plants hen you must take good care of them or else they will not last for long. One of the most important things that you should never forget is to water the plants regularly and that too at regular intervals. Watering at regular intervals is necessary for the plant to look nice and green and also to ensure that the plants last for a long time. If you are not regular in watering and taking good care of the plants then there are chances that they will start drying at the roots and sometimes they may even die very soon.

Tips to take care of plants

Remember that in the first few weeks when the plant is really small and weak the care the plants should be well taken care of and special attention needs to be paid. Some of the care-taking tips include:

You need to spray plain water over-head especially in the evening time. It is always a good idea to water the plants in the evening because the soil is not hot at that time. Always remember to never water the plants in the afternoons. This could damage the plants and cause bad effects to the plants.

You could cover the plants with a tent usually made of polythene. This will help to keep them fresh. This is because the new shrubs will be able to retain their freshness and moisture especially during the dry periods.

Apart from just watering the plants you should also remember that plants need nutrition. This can be provided in the form of garden compost, dropping of birds called peat and farmyard manure. You can be assured that animal dung is excellent form of manure and such things are commonly available in the country side.

Certain plants when they are in the tender stage will require support in the form of tying up of any stick to their stem. This helps the plants with the help and support in the early stage because at this time their stems are weak and have a tendency of breaking off if not supported.

You can also provide a screen to the plants so that they are not affected by the direct sunlight. Direct sunlight can be too hot for the plants to handle. At the same time they need the sunlight to grow and so the filter will give it the right amount of sunlight and even help to filter the wind to some extent. This filtration will reduce the force of the wind and thus protect the plant.

If the above mentioned steps are followed carefully then you can have a strong plant and a plant that will be healthy and also have a long life.
